Your arrow is preparing to leave the quiver behind.  Prepare the bow and aim.

I am a secondary teacher by trade. I taught history for several years at Gilbert Christian School in Gilbert Arizona and my oldest children at home for 2 years.  Before that, I worked inside the juvenile justice system in the state of Texas, both as a counselor and as a developer of an independent living curriculum used to transition parolee teens back into the community.

I have been an independent high school guidance counselor unofficially for several years. Finally I decided to make it my work….but I don’t really consider it work. I’m the girl that stays up late at night reading about the latest scholarships and the best new programs and research.  Everything is in flux every year…..new scholarships, new rules, new degrees.

I have four children. My youngest is in fifth grade. My oldest kids all went to different high schools based on their needs….public, private and charter. My eldest graduated from Grand Canyon and is a second-grade teacher. My second graduated from New York University and is the dental hygienist on staff at a company called QUIP in Brooklyn. My third graduated from Wheaton College in May where he studied economics and Spanish (and played baseball). He went to work for Chik-fil-A in Wheaton, IL. None live at home. All are following Jesus, by His grace.

In my experience, the most important years in a student’s life are the college years. It is my mission to match students with environments that will leave them successful, with the least amount of debt and the most opportunity for spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth.

My assessment is holistic in its approach. Questions are asked orally (no student likes to give lengthy, handwritten answers). My assessment evaluates character, work ethic, strength of faith, friendship making, assertiveness, budding leadership, talents, gifts and passions.

There are things that have to happen in high school freshman year, sophomore year, junior year….

I can’t wait to meet you to form a plan. Email me at uscollegelab@gmail.com or text me at 602-488-3934 with your email address. See my “Contact” page. My most expensive package is $110.00.

If you are a grandparent with custody of your high-school aged grandkids, my services are free when I have open appointment times. I have a special place in my heart for you.

Blessings,    Kim
